When visiting southern Utah, St. George should be your base camp
The tourist hub of southern Utah, St. George is within easy driving distance of some of the nation’s most spectacular scenic wonders, including Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and Grand Canyon National Park. While the towering sandstone monoliths of Zion Canyon are less than an hour away, Bryce Canyon’s colorful rock hoodoos and the Grand Canyon’s enormous, deep chasm are within a few hours’ drive. Boasting the warmest climate of any other spot in Utah, St. George and its surrounding area also feature state parks, pioneer historic sites, scenic golf courses, ghost towns, and natural history attractions.
In addition to its scenic attractions, historic sites, and recreation havens, St. George features many excellent shopping options. The city’s premier shopping destination is the Zion Factory Stores. A collection of outlets of top-notch retailers such as Eddie Bauer, Levi’s, Polo Ralph Lauren and Rue 21, the Zion Factory Stores also boast restaurants such as Outback Steakhouse and Sharky’s. Ancestor Square and Red Cliffs Mall are two other favorite shopping options in southern Utah. St. George Historic District’s Ancestor Square features quaint shops, charming galleries and fine restaurants, such as The Painted Pony. Anchored by JCPenney, Dillard’s and Sears, the Red Cliffs Mall boasts over 60 shops, including Aeropostale, PacSun, American Eagle Outfitters, Foot Locker and Clair’s Boutique. The shopping headquarters of southern Utah, St. George has something for even the most discriminating consumer.
If you like to host a convention or trade show in southern Utah, St. George’s Dixie Center is an excellent venue in which to hold it. The flexible venue, which has hosted everything from high school reunions to volleyball concerts, boasts a 47,500-square-foot exhibit hall and 32,000 square feet of additional meeting space throughout 21 other meeting rooms. The main exhibit hall can seat up to 6,200 for a concert or special event and accommodate about 240 10’X10’ booths for trade shows. The Dixie Center’s catering and support staff make any event at the venue a success.
